GRADING POLICY
(This is how we measure our students’ progress and readiness for promotion.)
While the work that we do in each of our grades may look different, students are expected to be assessed to show evidence of learning and mastery of appropriate state standards in ALL grades. In order to achieve this goal:
- Unit Tests will be designed to capture mastery of targeted Common Core Learning Standards.
- Quizzes will measure progress towards meeting standards.
- Class work will be used as a supplement to measure mastery and/or progress towards meeting standards.
- Homework maybe assigned in collaboration with families AND based on student's individual needs. Homework can be factored into a student's final grade, but cannot negatively impact a student's grade.
- Attendance is critical to every child’s success. In order to be successful in any of the other categories, a child must have excellent attendance.
